Our client, a leading specialist manufacturer of high-quality engineered products, is on the lookout for a skilled and proactive Electrical Maintenance Engineer to enhance their established maintenance team in Northumberland.

Key Responsibilities:
- Execute planned preventative and reactive electrical maintenance on production machinery and plant equipment.
- Diagnose and repair electrical faults to minimise downtime and maximise machine availability.
- Perform fault finding on electrical systems, including sensors, switches, relays, motors, drives, and control circuits.
- Install, repair, and maintain electrical cabling, wiring systems, and machine control equipment.
- Support machine upgrades, modifications, and continuous improvement projects.
- Conduct PLC fault finding and diagnostics to identify and rectify machine issues.
- Assist with the commissioning and testing of machinery and equipment.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and update documentation as required.
- Liaise effectively with production teams to ensure efficient resolution of equipment issues.
- Support contractors and external service providers as necessary.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations during all maintenance activities.
- Contribute to the development of preventative maintenance schedules and best practises.
- Provide technical support to operators and production personnel.
About You:
Essential:
- Recognised Electrical Engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, ONC, HNC, or equivalent).
- Proven experience in an Electrical Maintenance Engineer or Maintenance Electrician role within manufacturing.
- Strong electrical fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
- Familiarity with sensors, switches, contactors, motors, and control panels.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings.
- Experience in PLC fault-finding.
- Knowledge of preventative and reactive maintenance practises.
Desirable:
- Familiarity with 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
- Experience working with PLC systems such as, Allen Bradley, Mitsubishi or similar.
- Exposure to continuous improvement or TPM methodologies.
Skills & Attributes:
- Excellent electrical fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
- Strong understanding of industrial electrical systems and machine controls.
- Practical, hands-on approach to maintenance activities.
- Ability to work independently and prioritise workloads effectively.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments.
