Job Description

Our client, a national IT company, are currently recruiting a confident Field-Based Lead AV Engineer to join their expanding installation and service team. This role is ideal for an Engineer with solid hands-on experience who is ready to take ownership of projects, support junior colleagues, and deliver high-quality AV solutions across commercial, corporate, education and public-sector environments.

Working Remotely, duties to include:

  • Install, configure and commission AV systems including displays, projectors, audio systems, control systems and video conferencing platforms
  • Conduct on-site service visits, diagnostics, repairs and preventative maintenance
  • Complete structured cabling, terminations and equipment mounting to professional standards
  • Support project managers with system testing, documentation and client handover
  • Provide clear, customer-focused technical support during installation and service visits
  • Ensure all work meets health & safety requirements and manufacturer specifications

As a successful candidate you will have experience as an AV Engineer or AV Technician in a field-based role with a strong understanding of AV signal flow, hardware, control systems and VC technologies, competence with installation, cabling (Cat5/6), troubleshooting and commissioning with the ability to read and interpret technical drawings and installation plans.

Professional communication skills and confidence working independently on client sites is also essential as is a Full UK driving licence.

Experience with Crestron, Extron, AMX, Q-SYS, Poly, Cisco or Microsoft Teams Rooms and industry certifications (CTS, manufacturer training, networking qualifications) would be beneficial.
