Mechanical Engineer<br />Cramlington<br />Salary Depending on Experience<br />We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join a growing engineering team in Cramlington.This is a hands-on, project-focused role where you will be responsible for developing mechanical solutions for retrofit and upgrade projects within the power generation and gas turbine industry.<br />Mechanical Engineer Roles &amp;

Responsibilities:

• Develop mechanical designs and solutions for retrofit and upgrade projects
• Use customer requirements, site conditions and 3D scan data to develop layouts
• Develop dismantling and installation methodologies
• Plan site works, including lifting equipment, cranes and temporary works
• Support lifting studies and equipment condition assessments
• Coordinate mechanical interfaces between existing and new equipment
• Work closely with Project, Engineering, Operations and Site Teams
• Ensure designs are practical to manufacture, transport and install
• Support FEED studies, technical documentation and safety reviews
• Liaise with customers, fabricators and external stakeholders
• Ensure compliance with CDM, safety and quality standards<br />Mechanical Engineer Ideal Candidate:
• HNC minimum in Mechanical Engineering; degree preferred
• 3+ years' relevant mechanical engineering experience
• Experience within technical, project-driven environments
• Experience with retrofit, upgrade or turnkey engineering projects
• Strong knowledge of dismantling, installation and site planning
• Understanding of lifting requirements, crane planning and temporary works
• Experience working with existing installations and challenging site conditions
• Confident using AutoCAD, Inventor and 3D modelling
• Good understanding of CDM and site safety
• FEED, fabrication inspection or FAT experience would be advantageous
• Willingness to travel to customer and project sites when required<br />Mechanical Engineer
