Data Center Engineer – Cisco ACI/Nexus

We have an exciting Data Center Engineer – Cisco ACI/Nexus opportunity with a strong contract-to-hire/FTE conversion opportunity. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience supporting Cisco ACI, Nexus, and data center networking environments, along with expertise in network troubleshooting, automation, and infrastructure connectivity.

Work Model

Hybrid – Must be able to work onsite at least part of the week at one of the above locations.

Contract & Conversion

• Contract Rate: $70/hour on W2 without benefits

• FTE Conversion: Strong intent to convert to full-time

• Sponsorship: Not available

Candidates must be local to, or willing to relocate/commute to, at least ONE of the listed locations. This is not a 100% remote position.

Work Authorization

The client cannot provide sponsorship. Candidates must be able to convert to FTE without sponsorship.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Data Center Engineering / Network Engineering

• Strong hands-on experience with Cisco ACI

• Strong experience with Cisco Nexus switches

• Solid understanding of Data Center Networking

• Experience with VXLAN, routing, switching, multicast, and high availability

• Hands-on experience with Cisco ACI fabric architecture, tenants, VRFs, EPGs, contracts, and policies

• Experience troubleshooting Nexus and ACI environments

• Strong knowledge of packet capture, packet brokers, SPAN, and ERSPAN

• Experience with network troubleshooting and protocol analysis

• Knowledge of VPN, remote connectivity, and hybrid connectivity

• Experience with network automation using Python, scripting, APIs, or similar technologies

• Experience with network telemetry, monitoring, observability, and performance management

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, configure, and support data center network infrastructure using Cisco ACI and Nexus technologies.

• Administer and troubleshoot Cisco ACI fabrics, including tenants, VRFs, bridge domains, EPGs, contracts, and fabric policies.

• Configure and manage Cisco Nexus switches in production data center environments.

• Troubleshoot complex Layer 2/Layer 3, VXLAN, routing, switching, multicast, and connectivity issues.

• Perform packet-level troubleshooting using SPAN, ERSPAN, packet capture, and packet broker technologies.

• Support data center connectivity across on-premises, cloud, VPN, and hybrid environments.

• Monitor network health, capacity, availability, and performance using appropriate telemetry and observability tools.

• Develop and maintain network automation scripts and API-based solutions using Python and other scripting technologies.

• Collaborate with infrastructure, security, cloud, application, and engineering teams to resolve network issues and support data center initiatives.

• Participate in network upgrades, migrations, deployments, and infrastructure improvements.

• Maintain network documentation, configurations, diagrams, and operational procedures.
