Job Description

Description Job Summary: The IT System Administrator - Windows is responsible for managing and maintaining day-to-day IT operations across both physical and virtual environments. This role oversees system availability, configuration, security, backup/restore, and software management to ensure operational continuity and compliance with customer and industry standards. The System Administrator will implement updates, monitor performance, and provide technical oversight during installation and recovery efforts while promoting standard operating procedures and best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily IT system operations, ensuring high availability and performance.
  • Perform system provisioning, configuration changes, maintenance, and patching for both physical and virtual systems.
  • Execute regular backups and restores in accordance with established policies.
  • Install and upgrade operating systems and layered software packages.
  • Schedule and coordinate installations and upgrades per approved IT policies.
  • Monitor vendor announcements, evaluate patches and upgrades, and implement updates in compliance with customer standards.
  • Monitor and tune systems to achieve optimal performance.
  • Analyze and resolve system-related issues to minimize downtime.
  • Install and monitor security auditing software.
  • Remediate security vulnerabilities in accordance with customer security policies.
  • Ensure workstation/server data integrity through appropriate software and hardware solutions.
  • Develop, maintain, and promote standard operating procedures.
  • Provide technical oversight and guidance during installations, upgrades, and recovery projects.
