Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain complex SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, views, and triggers.
  • Develop and optimize database objects using Microsoft SQL Server / T-SQL.
  • Perform SQL query optimization, indexing, execution-plan analysis, and database performance tuning.
  • Design relational database structures, tables, relationships, constraints, and indexes.
  • Develop and maintain ETL processes for extracting, transforming, and loading data between enterprise systems.
  • Troubleshoot database performance issues, data integrity problems, and production incidents.
  • Work with large and complex datasets to support reporting, analytics, and business applications.
  • Collaborate with developers and architects to improve database architecture and application performance.
  • Participate in database migrations, upgrades, and data conversion projects.
  • Develop data validation and reconciliation processes to ensure data accuracy.
  • Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical database solutions.
  • Create technical documentation, data models, and database design specifications.
  • Participate in code reviews and follow established development and deployment standards.
  • Support production releases and provide troubleshooting assistance when required.
  • Mentor junior developers and provide technical guidance on SQL development best practices.

Required Skills

  • 7+ years of experience in SQL/database development.
  • Strong expertise in Microsoft SQL Server and T-SQL.
  • Excellent knowledge of stored procedures, functions, views, CTEs, temporary tables, and complex joins.
  • Strong understanding of database normalization, relational database concepts, and data modeling.
  • Hands-on experience with SQL performance tuning and optimization.
  • Experience analyzing execution plans and identifying database bottlenecks.
  • Strong understanding of indexes, statistics, transactions, locking, and concurrency.
  • Experience with ETL/data integration processes.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex production database issues.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in the financial services or investment management domain.
  • Experience with SSIS, SSRS, or other Microsoft data tools.
  • Knowledge of Azure SQL Database or other cloud database technologies.
  • Experience with Power BI or enterprise reporting platforms.
  • Familiarity with database migration and modernization projects.
  • Experience with Git, Azure DevOps, or similar source-control/CI-CD tools.
  • Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and dimensional modeling.
  • Experience working with high-volume transactional databases.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.

Work Environment

This position follows a hybrid work model, with approximately 3 days per week onsite in Oaks, Pennsylvania. Candidates should be comfortable collaborating with onsite and distributed technical teams.
