Junior Trader

Our client is a leading global systematic hedge fund that combines quantitative research, advanced technology, and discretionary trading strategies across global financial markets.

They are seeking a Junior Trader to join their Discretionary Trading team. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate to work alongside experienced traders, gaining hands-on exposure to portfolio management, risk analysis, trade execution, and market research across multiple asset classes.

Responsibilities
  • Support senior traders with portfolio monitoring, maintenance, and hedging activities.
  • Generate P&L tracking and attribution reports.
  • Monitor portfolio performance and produce risk reports.
  • Collaborate with traders and quantitative researchers to evaluate trading opportunities.
  • Execute complex trades where automation is not suitable.
Requirements
  • Recent graduate or final-year student with a degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Economics, Finance, or a related quantitative discipline.
  • Up to 3 years of experience in a trading role - even one internship is relevant
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work within a global team.
  • Programming experience is essential, with Python strongly preferred.
  • Interest in financial markets and trading.
