Technology Lead – Infrastructure & Database Administration

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Technology Lead specializing in Infrastructure and Database Administration with strong hands-on expertise in FIS ClearVision, Oracle PL/SQL, Couchbase, and Azure Cloud/Site Reliability Engineering (SRE).

The ideal candidate will have experience supporting financial trading platforms, particularly Exchange-Traded Derivatives (ETD) clearing systems. This role requires strong database engineering capabilities, production support experience, infrastructure knowledge, and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues across distributed systems.

Candidates should have a solid understanding of financial market operations, multi-exchange connectivity, trade processing, and cloud infrastructure orchestration.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and operational support for FIS ClearVision and financial trading platforms.

• Develop, troubleshoot, debug, and maintain Oracle PL/SQL procedures and batch processes.

• Manage Couchbase NoSQL database operations, including data pruning, archiving, updates, and lifecycle management.

• Support production environments and troubleshoot infrastructure, database, and application-related incidents.

• Analyze application and infrastructure logs to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.

• Develop and maintain operational runbooks, incident documentation, and postmortem reports.

• Automate operational activities using shell scripting.

• Support Azure Cloud infrastructure and SRE-related activities.

• Manage Kubernetes workloads and infrastructure orchestration.

• Implement and maintain KEDA autoscaling configurations and Helm deployments.

• Collaborate with application, infrastructure, database, and trading operations teams.

Required Skills & Experience

1. FIS ClearVision & Financial Systems

• Strong hands-on knowledge of FIS ClearVision.

• Understanding of cleared derivatives trade clearing.

• Knowledge of Exchange-Traded Derivatives (ETD) clearing systems.

• Understanding of financial trading platforms and trade lifecycle processing.

2. Oracle Database & Couchbase

• Strong Oracle PL/SQL development and administration experience.

• Ability to write, debug, and troubleshoot complex batch procedures, loops, and database fixes.

• Hands-on experience with Couchbase NoSQL.

• Experience managing Couchbase data lifecycle activities, including pruning, archiving, and updating.

3. Financial Markets & Trading Operations

• Understanding of multi-exchange gateway operations, including:

  • CME

  • ICE

  • Eurex

  • SGX

  • COMEX

  • CBOT

• Knowledge of market data flows, including CCP versus non-CCP.

• Experience with trade data processing and clearing operations.

4. Production Support & SRE

• Strong log analysis and production incident troubleshooting skills.

• Experience preparing operational runbooks and postmortem documentation.

• Shell scripting and automation experience.

• Familiarity with SRE principles and documentation-driven operational workflows.

Secondary / Preferred Skills

Cloud Infrastructure & Orchestration

• Azure Cloud infrastructure knowledge.

• Kubernetes administration, including:

  • Pods and CronJobs

  • Persistent Volume Claims (PVCs)

  • Secrets and ConfigMaps

  • Resource limits and requests

• KEDA autoscaling implementation using time-based and Cron triggers.

• Experience with timezone-sensitive scheduling.

• Helm chart authoring and deployment.

• Hands-on experience with values.yaml, Helm templates, and environment-specific overlays.

Ideal Candidate Profile

• Strong combination of financial services domain knowledge and infrastructure/database engineering.

• Hands-on experience supporting mission-critical trading and clearing platforms.

• Strong Oracle PL/SQL and Couchbase expertise.

• Familiarity with cloud-native infrastructure, Kubernetes, and SRE practices.

• Ability to troubleshoot production issues and drive operational improvements.
