About the role

Reporting to the Manager, Reporting & Analysis or Team Leader, this role develops, maintains and supports reports while providing data-driven insights across the Department. It prepares reports for Ministers, executives and public reporting, responds to changing and ad hoc requests, and develops briefings, presentations and other reporting deliverables. The role involves collecting, analysing and interpreting data, developing high-quality reports and business intelligence, improving reporting systems and processes, and supporting strategic decision-making. It also requires collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, contributing to team projects, and undertaking other duties aligned with organisational needs.

What we're looking for (Selection Criteria)
  • You're someone who: Has strong data analysis skills and can use Excel (including advanced formulas, pivot tables and charts) to turn data into clear insights and support decision-making.
  • Think(s) critically, solves problems effectively and uses sound judgement to analyse information and identify practical solutions.
  • Builds and maintains positive relationships with stakeholders, works collaboratively and responds professionally to stakeholder needs.
  • Communicates clearly and confidently, tailoring messages, presentations and reports to suit different audiences and influence outcomes.
  • Embraces innovation and continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to improve processes, sharing ideas and seeking feedback to deliver better results.
Qualifications and experience
  • A tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline or a related field.
  • Previous experience working with diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Pre-employment checks and employment conditions.

  • Applicants must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold a valid work permit or visa necessary for the nature of the position.
