Opportunity

As an External Security Vetting Analyst, you will support EY's External Security Vetting Services program by managing and assessing complex personnel security clearance cases, with a focus on Negative Vetting Level 2 matters and other clearance levels as required.

Our roles can also be offered on a part time, flexible, and hybrid basis to balance your time between home and office. Please speak with us about potential options.

Key responsibilities
  • Assess and progress NV2 security clearance cases meticulously, strictly adhering to the Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF), agency requirements and EY best practices.
  • Conduct structured, fair and professional applicant interviews, using clear non leading questions to clarify information, test inconsistencies and assess relevant vetting factors.
  • Analyse complex and sensitive information, including employment, financial, personal conduct, integrity and lifestyle considerations, distinguishing relevant risk indicators from non material information.
  • Prepare clear, comprehensive and evidence based case notes and recommendations that allow reviewers and decision makers to understand how each factor has been considered.
  • Manage a complex, time sensitive caseload while balancing throughput, quality, risk and service level expectations.
  • Engage constructively with quality assurance feedback, escalated complexities appropriately, and contribute to a consistent, high performing vetting capability.
Skills and attributes for success
  • Demonstrated experience assessing personnel security clearances, including NV2 matters, within Government, national security or similarly high security environments.
  • A current or recently held Negative Vetting Level 2 clearance, with the ability and willingness to maintain the clearance required for the role.
  • Strong interviewing capability, including the ability to gather information sensitively, ask effective clarification questions, avoid assumptions and maintain procedural fairness.
  • High attention to detail and analytical thinking, with the ability to identify potential security risks across complex information sources.
  • Sound judgement, integrity and objectivity when handling sensitive personal information.
  • Commitment to quality and continuous improvement.
  • Professional resilience, discretion and self management, including the ability to manage competing priorities, sensitive content and time critical work.
What we can offer you
  • Career development: Opportunities to develop your future focused skills and gain world class experiences.
  • Flexible work arrangements: Policies that empower you to balance your professional and personal life.
  • Comprehensive benefits package: Includes a yearly wellness incentive, additional 8 weeks of flex leave per year, and family friendly policies such as 26 weeks of gender neutral paid parental leave.
  • Salary: Competitive, open to negotiation based on skills and experience.
