Role Overview
Key Responsibilities
Actuarial Analysis & Modeling
• Perform actuarial analyses related to life insurance products, including:
o Term Life
o Universal Life
o Pension Risk Transfer (PRT)
• Develop, maintain, and validate actuarial models for pricing, valuation, and forecasting
• Analyze experience data and trends to support business insights and decision-making
Product & Risk Management
• Support product design, pricing, and profitability analysis
• Assess and quantify risks associated with insurance portfolios
• Provide recommendations for risk mitigation and business optimization
Model Governance & Validation
• Perform quality assurance and validation of actuarial models and tools
• Ensure models adhere to internal standards and actuarial best practices
• Maintain documentation for models and methodologies
Business & Stakeholder Collaboration
• Partner with cross-functional teams including:
o Finance
o Investments
o IT
o Product and underwriting teams
• Translate technical actuarial concepts into actionable business insights
• Support strategic initiatives and enterprise transformation programs
Regulatory & Audit Support
• Assist in internal and external audit processes
• Ensure compliance with actuarial standards and regulatory requirements
• Provide documentation and explanations for actuarial assumptions and results
Required Qualifications & Experience
• 5–10+ years of actuarial experience in life insurance
• Strong background in:
o Actuarial modeling
o Risk assessment
o Product analysis
Professional Credentials
• ASA (Associate of the Society of Actuaries) required
• FSA (Fellow of the Society of Actuaries) preferred
Technical Skills
• Experience with actuarial software:
o GGY Axis (preferred) or MG-ALFA
• Strong programming/analytics skills:
o SQL
o Python
o VBA
• Experience working with large datasets and automation tools
Domain Knowledge
• Strong understanding of life insurance products and actuarial principles
• Knowledge of modeling methodologies, assumptions, and financial projections
Key Competencies
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Effective communication and stakeholder management
• Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams
