Job Description

Service Transition Designer/Architect

Location - Midlands - Hybrid

Duration: 6 months

Start - ASAP

We are looking for a Service Designer/Architect to build a Service transistion framework for a Client, with the following experience:

  • Someone to build a repeatable Service Transition framework and the supporting capability.

  • Experience of delivering framework that can be developed, applied and refined,

  • Experience of developing and defining a formal Service Transition framework, supporting processes or complete documentation.

  • The framework must therefore give a consistent way to determine what should enter IT ownership, in what order, and through what controls.

  • Experience of determining what exists, what is missing, what good should look like, and the recommended plan for establishing the function.

  • Experience of defining and delivering a practical Service Transition framework, with the processes and documentation required to use it. It needs to cover assessment and prioritisation, ownership, support arrangements, service acceptance, operational readiness, governance, reporting, escalation, knowledge transfer and handover into BAU.

  • Experience of build, test and improve the framework so that it can subsequently be used across the wider application estate.

  • Experience of assessing an immature Service Transition capability and then designed and implemented the framework, governance, processes, and documentation themselves.

  • Experience of working with ambiguity, engage IT and business stakeholders, challenge priorities, drive decisions and take ownership without waiting for detailed direction.

  • Experience of knowledge management and wider process improvement would be valuable.

  • Experience of working with 3rd parties.
