Job Description

About the Role

Own the data foundation for an early-stage AI/ML software company, including its warehouse, production pipelines, BI layer, and conversion tracking. You will join an early analytics function, work directly with company leadership, and build data systems that inform business decisions and advertising platform bidding.

What You'll Do

  • Own the ClickHouse warehouse schema, ingestion, backfills, and performance, making decisions about data structure and access.

  • Build and operate reliable Python pipelines from sources such as Postgres, billing systems, team tools, and advertising platforms, with testing, monitoring, recovery, and data verification.

  • Manage conversion tracking and attribution data, including server-side events, platform conversion imports, and feeds of lifetime gross profit.

  • Build and maintain BI dashboards for growth, finance, support, and product, keeping the collection useful and current.

  • Analyze retention, unit economics, channel attribution, churn, and pricing impact, and proactively share findings.

  • Set up monitoring and alerts for meaningful metric changes and partner with leadership to prioritize and deliver data work.

What We're Looking For

  • Strong Python engineering skills for production ingestion, transformations, and orchestration, rather than notebook-only analysis.

  • Hands-on experience with a columnar warehouse such as ClickHouse, Snowflake, BigQuery, or Redshift.

  • Experience building a BI layer with tools such as Hex, Metabase, or Looker.

  • Strong understanding of metric definitions, denominators, cohorts, and reliable comparisons.

  • Familiarity with billing and SaaS metrics such as MRR, ARR, NDR, and LTV, ideally including financial close support.

  • Practical experience with conversion tracking and attribution, including advertising platform APIs or server-side event pipelines.

  • Comfort using coding agents while taking responsibility for correctness and production behavior, and experience owning work in a small, fast-moving team.
