We're partnering with an innovative AI startup that's redefining how software is built. Their platform combines cutting-edge AI with modern development workflows, enabling engineers to build, test and ship products faster than ever before.

As they prepare for launch, they're looking for a Senior Product Engineer (Harness Engineering) to help build the infrastructure that powers next-generation AI coding agents.

If you're passionate about AI systems, agent orchestration and developer tooling and you spend more time thinking about how AI should build software than writing every line yourself this could be the perfect opportunity.

The Role

As a Senior Product Engineer, you'll help design, build and ship a next-generation AI development platform. You'll work across the full product lifecycle, partnering with a small, highly technical team to create systems that make AI agents more capable, reliable and production-ready.

This is a hands-on engineering role where you'll have significant ownership, working across product, infrastructure and AI systems to solve complex technical challenges.

What you'll be doing

• Build the infrastructure that enables AI coding agents to perform effectively in production.
• Design and improve agent orchestration, context management and evaluation frameworks.
• Develop features across the frontend, backend and AI platform.
• Build internal tools and developer workflows that improve the product experience.
• Work closely with product and engineering to prioritise, design and ship new functionality.
• Monitor, iterate and continuously improve system performance after release.
• Take ownership of projects from concept through deployment in a fast-moving startup environment.

What they're looking for

• Strong experience building AI-powered products, developer tools or agent-based systems.
• Hands-on experience with AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Cursor or similar technologies.
• Experience designing systems around large language models, including orchestration, workflows or evaluation pipelines.
• Strong product instincts with a track record of shipping high-quality software.
• Comfortable working across the full technology stack.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to thrive in a collaborative, high-ownership environment.
• Self-starter who enjoys solving ambiguous, technically challenging problems.

Nice to have

• Experience building evaluation frameworks (evals) for AI systems.
• Open-source contributions within the AI ecosystem.
• Founder or early-stage startup experience.
• Experience with desktop application architecture (Electron or similar).
• Experience with Unity, Unreal Engine or game development.
