Technical Lead

Technical Lead - 6 months+ £450-500pd Inside IR35 - Mostly remote with 1 day on site per week in Leeds

You are joining a multidisciplinary product delivery that needs to turn validated journeys into a production-capable App experience backed by interoperable platform/API services, with strong emphasis on testing, security/IG, operational readiness and integration with the wider ecosystem.
Design and deliver full-stack applications, with a strong focus on Server Side TypeScript and Node.js. Working in an Agile team, you'll take solutions from design through deployment, influence technical decisions and help maintain high engineering standards.

• Ability to provide strong technical leadership to a newly formed development team.
• Can take high level requirements and working with the technical architect and designers deliver them.
• You'll have the freedom to explore better ways of solving problems while collaborating with experienced engineers who will support your development and share their expertise.

Build & Deliver: Develop TypeScript/Node.js Back End services and modern Front End applications.
Design & Integrate: Create APIs, microservices and integrations.
Lead & Improve: Influence technical design and champion clean, secure and maintainable code.
Automate & Optimise: Use automated testing and CI/CD to improve quality and delivery.
Collaborate & Support: Share knowledge, review code and mentor other engineers.

• Strong commercial TypeScript and Node.js Back End development experience.
• Full-stack experience with React, Angular or a similar framework.
• Experience developing RESTful APIs, services or microservices.
• Good knowledge of SOLID principles, automated testing and CI/CD.
• Experience with Git and Agile development.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Must be a self starter.

Tech stack:

• Node.js
• TypeScript
• AWS
• GitHub Actions
• Playwright and Jest for testing
• Any experience with health API standards would be ideal.

This temporary contract is inside IR35 and will require working under the direction of the client delivery manager as part of a multi-disciplinary team. The successful candidate will follow established delivery processes and working practices
