Integration Architect
Location: Remote on PST
Role Overview
The immediate objective is to establish a scalable integration layer between the SYN7 Order Management System and Maersk Warehouse Management System using an enterprise iPaaS platform. This individual will serve as the technical lead, collaborating across business stakeholders, enterprise architecture, vendors, warehouse partners, and engineering teams. The successful candidate combines strong integration architecture experience with the ability to remain hands-on through configuration, API integration, testing, troubleshooting, and production deployment.
Key Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end architecture for integration between the SYN7 Order Management System, Maersk Warehouse Management System, and associated fulfillment systems.
• Evaluate integration requirements and translate existing high-level process flows into detailed technical architecture and integration specifications.
• Assess and validate the appropriate iPaaS approach, with a focus on Workato and MuleSoft.
• Partner with enterprise and integration architecture teams to ensure the solution aligns with broader architectural, security, and platform standards.
• Establish repeatable integration patterns that can support additional warehouse providers without requiring major redesign.
• Serve as the primary technical point of contact throughout discovery, design, implementation, testing, cutover, and stabilization.
• Configure and develop workflows, recipes, APIs, connectors, transformations, and orchestration within enterprise iPaaS platforms.
• Develop robust data transformations, mappings, and integration logic to normalize inconsistent order data.
• Design security controls and authentication mechanisms to ensure warehouse-level data segregation.
• Design error handling, retry, reconciliation, and exception-management processes.

Required Qualifications
Experience: Eight or more years of experience in enterprise integration engineering, middleware, or integration architecture, with at least three years leading complex integration architecture or technical delivery initiatives.
Technical Skills: Strong hands-on experience with enterprise iPaaS platforms, specifically Workato or MuleSoft Anypoint Platform, and demonstrated experience designing and implementing REST/API-based system integrations. Proficient with REST APIs, JSON/XML, Webhooks, OAuth 2.0, API gateways, and event-driven or asynchronous integration patterns.
Methodologies: Experience implementing resilient integrations utilizing retry logic, error queues, dead-letter patterns, idempotency, reconciliation, and transaction logging.
Preferred Qualifications

• Previous Workato architecture and hands-on implementation experience.
• Previous experience integrating with Maersk warehouse or logistics technology environments.
• Experience integrating Order Management Systems, Warehouse Management Systems, e-commerce, logistics, or fulfillment platforms.
• Experience with Shopify integrations.
• Understanding of global commerce, customs, shipping, and warehouse order data.
• Previous experience in large-scale retail, footwear and apparel, e-commerce, or consumer products environments.
