THE POSITION
The Currency Forward Specialist Co-op will be a member of Trade Operations within Investment Operations. Trade Operations is
responsible for supporting the firm's domestic and international post-execution trade activities. The primary responsibility of the Currency Forward Specialist Co-op is to ensure matching in Continuous Linked Settlement (CLS) for settlement of foreign exchange (FX) trades. They will work closely with custodian banks and broker-dealers to resolve late settlement issues or any post trade discrepancies. The Co-op will also work on other tasks and projects within the group to enhance daily processes.
The student will gain valuable expertise in trading and settlement practices associated with today's global financial markets. The undergraduate will develop communication skills through interaction with traders, sales assistants, brokers, and custodian banks across the globe. The Co-op will also have the opportunity to become proficient in industry applications such as Global Link GTSS, CLS Dashboard, and Omgeo Products. The competencies acquired while working in Trade Operations are highly desirable in a competitive job market.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Please note: This co-op position entails cross-training to ensure optimal performance across functions. The anticipated start date for accepted candidates is December 2026/January 2027.

The base salary range for this position is:
$19-$35 per hour
This range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered when making compensation decisions, including but not limited to skill sets; role; skills and experience; certifications; and education. This range is an estimate, and further details on salary and total compensation aspects will be shared with candidates during the recruitment process.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work with FX brokers, traders, sales assistants and custodians to ensure timely and accurate cash payments relating to foreign exchange
- Monitor all CLS FX trade activity and ensure all eligible trades are matched in a timely fashion
- Work with custodians and brokers to resolve issues related to settlement of FX trades
- Help with the weekly review of physical mail
- Ad hoc project work
- Proficient in all MS Office applications
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills and attention to detail
- Interest and understanding of financial markets and products is a plus
- Ability to multi-task and work in a challenging fast-paced environment
