Job Description

Amazon Web Services, Inc. seeks a System Engineer for Data Center Central Operations Install to design, deploy, and support infrastructure powering AWS cloud services. You will install and configure servers, networking, and storage hardware; manage OS and firmware upgrades; and ensure high availability, performance, and security across large-scale data centers. Partner with operations, networking, and product teams to troubleshoot complex issues, automate routine tasks, and improve installation standards. This role suits hands-on engineers who excel in fast-paced, customer-obsessed environments and want to shape the future of global cloud computing.

Responsibilities

  • Install and configure servers, storage, and network hardware in AWS data centers
  • Perform OS, firmware, and driver upgrades while minimizing service impact
  • Monitor infrastructure health and respond to incidents and alerts
  • Troubleshoot complex hardware, network, and system performance issues
  • Automate deployment, configuration, and operational tasks where possible
  • Document installation standards, runbooks, and procedures
  • Collaborate with networking, operations, and product teams on capacity and reliability
  • Ensure security, compliance, and change management policies are followed
  • Participate in on-call rotations and support critical production events
  • Continuously improve data center installation processes and tools
