Cloud Platform Engineer, AWS (Remote)

Optomi, in partnership with a leading organization, is seeking a Cloud Platform Engineer to support application teams throughout their cloud journey by automating infrastructure provisioning, providing technical guidance, and troubleshooting cloud environments. The ideal candidate has strong hands-on AWS experience, infrastructure-as-code expertise, and a solid understanding of containerization, CI/CD pipelines, and observability tools. This individual will work independently, support application teams, and help ensure scalable, reliable, and secure cloud infrastructure.

Experience of the Right Candidate:

\n
• 4+ years of hands-on experience with AWS cloud services and infrastructure.
\n
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform and/or CloudFormation.
\n
• Experience with scripting, command-line tools, code repositories, and CI/CD pipelines.
\n
• Hands-on experience with GitLab, including pipeline configuration and code promotion.
\n
• Experience building and deploying containerized applications using Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm.
\n
• Understanding of container image scalability, availability strategies, and command-line troubleshooting.
\n
• Experience with observability and monitoring tools such as Splunk, Dynatrace, AWS CloudWatch, Prometheus, or Grafana.
\n
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and independent problem-solving skills.
\n
• Ability to communicate technical concepts and mentor junior resources.
\n

Responsibilities:

\n
• Support application teams in their cloud adoption journey by providing technical guidance and infrastructure automation.
\n
• Design, provision, configure, and troubleshoot AWS infrastructure and cloud services.
\n
• Automate infrastructure provisioning using Terraform and/or CloudFormation.
\n
• Support AWS services including EKS, Lambda, VPC, Security Groups, EC2, DynamoDB, RDS, IAM, KMS, Route 53, MSK, S3, and Glue.
\n
• Configure and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitLab, supporting code repository management and code promotion.
\n
• Build, deploy, and troubleshoot containerized applications using Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm.
\n
• Support application scalability, availability, and deployment strategies.
\n
• Use monitoring and observability tools to identify, investigate, and resolve infrastructure and application issues.
\n
• Provide hands-on troubleshooting and technical support across AWS environments.
\n
• Participate in on-call support as needed, responding to and resolving technical issues.
\n
• Identify problems and procedural irregularities, gather information, analyze findings, and recommend solutions.
\n
• Work independently while collaborating with application teams and other technical resources.
\n
• Train and mentor junior team members and contribute to technical knowledge sharing.
\n

Preferred Qualifications:

\n
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure services and tools, including platform support and troubleshooting.
\n
• Experience delivering technical demonstrations or training sessions.
\n
• Experience supporting cloud-native application architectures and enterprise cloud environments.
