Job Description

Cost Estimator / Cost Engineer

Locations & Experience Requirements

  • Ohio: 5–10 years of relevant experience

  • Wisconsin: 15+ years of relevant experience

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed and accurate cost estimates for mechanical parts, components, and assemblies.

  • Evaluate and analyze costs associated with raw materials, machining, fabrication, labor, tooling, overhead, and manufacturing processes.

  • Review and analyze supplier quotations to assess cost competitiveness and identify opportunities for improvement.

  • Prepare and submit accurate, competitive, and commercially viable quotations to customers.

  • Perform should-cost analysis to validate product costs, supplier pricing, and commercial assumptions.

  • Identify and implement cost-reduction, cost-optimization, and value-engineering opportunities.

  • Lead and support RFQ/RFP costing activities for new and existing products.

  • Provide costing support throughout new product development (NPD) and product launch activities.

  • Collaborate closely with Engineering, Purchasing, Suppliers, Manufacturing, and Customers to develop optimized and competitive cost models.

  • Analyze cost drivers and manufacturing requirements to ensure accurate and competitive pricing.

  • Deliver high-quality cost estimates and commercial quotations within project timelines and customer requirements.

  • Support cross-functional teams in identifying opportunities to improve product cost, profitability, and overall competitiveness.
