QA Engineer ( POS & Payments )


Location: Cincinnati / Mason, OH - 5 Days
Job Type: Contract
Duration: 12 Months
Start Date: ASAP
Interview Process: 2 Rounds


Rate: $52 - $57


Job Overview


We are seeking an experienced QA Engineer POS & Payments to support quality assurance for enterprise retail applications and transaction-processing systems. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in functional, regression, API, and integration testing, with a focus on end-to-end business workflows.


Experience with Point-of-Sale (POS), payment processing, or retail transaction systems is highly preferred.


Responsibilities



  • Execute functional and regression testing across POS applications and retail store workflows.

  • Validate end-to-end payment and transaction scenarios.

  • Perform API and integration testing.

  • Develop, maintain, and execute test cases for new features and enhancements.

  • Identify, reproduce, document, and track software defects.

  • Participate in defect triage and root-cause analysis discussions.

  • Validate defect fixes and perform regression testing.

  • Support release readiness activities and production validation.

  • Collaborate closely with developers, product teams, business stakeholders, and other QA resources.

  • Contribute to test planning, test strategy, and overall QA execution.

  • Assist with test automation initiatives where applicable.

  • Ensure test coverage across critical business and transaction workflows.


Required Qualifications



  • Strong hands-on experience in QA / Software Testing.

  • Solid experience with functional and regression testing.

  • Experience testing complex enterprise applications and end-to-end workflows.

  • Hands-on experience with API and integration testing.

  • Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, test case design, defect management, and release validation.

  • Ability to troubleshoot, reproduce, analyze, and clearly document defects.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

  • Ability to work effectively with development, product, and QA teams.


Preferred Qualifications



  • Experience testing Retail or POS applications.

  • Experience with payment or transaction-processing systems.

  • Experience testing checkout, tender, authorization, refund, void, or similar transaction flows.

  • Experience with test automation.

  • Retail, grocery, or store-technology experience.

  • Experience testing high-volume transaction environments.

  • Familiarity with end-to-end integration testing across POS, payment, and backend systems.
