Description
We are looking for a Cyber Security Engineer to support and strengthen enterprise security operations in Plano, Texas. This permanent opportunity is ideal for a hands-on security specialist who can blend engineering expertise with incident response, data protection, and infrastructure security. The role will contribute to the design of resilient security controls, advance detection and response capabilities, and partner across teams to improve overall cyber defense maturity.
Responsibilities
Build, deploy, and refine enterprise security technologies that protect networks, endpoints, cloud resources, and sensitive information. Drive technical ownership of core security platforms such as secure access solutions, firewalls, SIEM tools, endpoint security, and related defensive controls. Establish and maintain security architecture guidelines, technical standards, and hardened configuration practices aligned with Zero Trust principles.
Lead complex cyber investigations, coordinate response activities, perform threat hunting, and determine root causes for security events. Create and enhance detection content, correlation logic, and automated workflows to improve visibility and speed of response across security systems. Direct data protection and insider risk initiatives, including policy development and tuning across Microsoft 365, endpoints, and cloud environments.
Review network security designs and configuration changes, offering expert guidance on segmentation, VPNs, secure access, and broader infrastructure protection strategies. Oversee vulnerability assessment efforts, prioritize remediation plans, support audit readiness, and help address compliance obligations across applicable frameworks. Mentor less experienced team members while communicating technical risks, recommendations, and project updates to business and technology stakeholders.
Maintain clear documentation such as standards, procedures, runbooks, and architecture artifacts while identifying opportunities to improve automation and operational efficiency. Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related discipline with at least 5 years of experience in information security, cybersecurity engineering, or similar technical roles; or a high school diploma with at least 9 years of directly related experience.
Demonstrated background in cybersecurity engineering with experience supporting enterprise security controls and operational defense programs. Hands-on experience with SIEM platforms, threat detection practices, and incident response in complex environments. Working knowledge of secure access service edge (SASE), firewall technologies, network segmentation, and infrastructure protection concepts. Experience supporting data protection initiatives and security controls within Microsoft 365 or Office 365 environments.
