Senior FX Artist

The artists on our team have been making larger-than-life visual effects for film and television for 10 years, bringing their rich and diverse experience from Montreal, Toronto, Bogotá, Saguenay and now Mumbai.

As an FX Artist, you’ll design and deliver high-quality simulations across a variety of effects, including fluids, destruction, pyro, cloth, and particles. You’ll build and refine custom setups and tools, collaborate within established pipelines, and ensure shots are completed on schedule and to client expectations. The role also involves basic lighting, shading, and slap comp work to integrate FX seamlessly into plates, with familiarity in tools like Maya and Nuke considered an advantage.

• Excellent knowledge of Houdini FX.
• Knowledge of lighting/shading skills along with slapcomps
• Thorough understanding of simulation techniques and technologies relating to FX.
• Must have 3 - 5 years of experience in simulated FX creation.
• Python and VEX programming skills are strongly desired.
• Previous film, commercial, or episodic/streaming television experience is preferred.
• Highly communicative self-starter who takes the initiative to improve their workflows and final look while contributing to collaborative team culture and a positive environment.
• Works well within a team as well as independently
• Able to effectively manage time and resources to create high-quality effects in a fast-paced production environment while working within time and budgetary constraints.
• Must be able to perform under tight deadlines and iterate on versions and techniques quickly.
• Must work well in an environment of peers passionate about making great pictures
