Job Description

Netzschutztechniker / Inbetriebnahmetechniker Umspannwerke | Bocholt, Germany | Hybrid This employer is seeking a skilled technician to play a vital role in modernizing and expanding electrical substations across western Germany. You will contribute directly to the energy transition by ensuring the successful operation of critical infrastructure for new and existing projects, including those for renewable energy sources. This is an exceptional opportunity to influence the future of energy. The Role • Commission new and modernized medium, high, and extra-high voltage substations up to 380kV. • Analyze and resolve faults in protection and control systems, collaborating with expert teams. • Program and parameterize high-tech protection and field control devices from leading manufacturers (e.g., Siemens, Schneider, ABB). • Perform precise commissioning of digital protection and control technology using state-of-the-art testing equipment. • Support customer projects in energy transmission and distribution, and grid connections for industrial and renewable energy parks. • Foster a strong team spirit and collaborate effectively with project management, planning, and installation teams. What You'll Need • Completed vocational training in electrical engineering. • Proficiency in protection/control technology, with experience in commissioning switchgear and knowledge of communication standards (IEC 60870-5-101/103/104). • Familiarity with parameterization software such as Siemens DIGSI 4/5, Schneider MICOM S1, and testing software like OMICRON Test Universe is advantageous. • Excellent team player with strong communication skills and a competent demeanor. • Valid driver's license (Class B) and willingness to travel regularly (typically Monday-Thursday).
