Job Description

Senior 360 Construction Recruitment Consultant

Here at Synergise Recruitment we are hiring on behalf of a local construction recruitment agency. We're looking for a tried and tested Senior 360 Construction Recruitment Consultant to help build the business from the ground up.

Our client is a new, independent construction recruitment agency launching in the South West. The business is well backed, run by people who understand recruitment, and ready to grow. What it needs now is a proven construction recruiter with years of experience who has worked across every part of the job.

You won't be taking over a client list or following a set playbook. You'll be setting things up, winning the work, supplying the people and running the desk from day one. You'll have directors behind you who listen to what you say, and real influence over how the agency is built.

What you'll be responsible for

This is a full 360 role covering every part of construction recruitment:

  • Business development. You'll win and grow accounts with main contractors, sub-contractors, groundworks and civils firms, house builders, roofing and cladding companies, and M&E contractors across the South West.
  • Labour supply. You'll fill orders quickly and reliably for labourers, groundworkers, plasterers, roofers, cladders, electricians, plumbers and other skilled trades, including short-notice and multi-site requirements.
  • Building a workforce. You'll create and maintain a reliable pool of trades and operatives, and keep good people coming back to work with the agency.
  • Compliance. You'll check CSCS, CPCS/NPORS, trade qualifications, right to work and references, and make sure every worker is site-ready before they start.
  • CIS and self-employed workers. You'll need a solid understanding of CIS, worker status and the paperwork that goes with them. This includes managing timesheets, rates and margins accurately.
  • Site and client management. You'll visit sites, sort out problems, handle no-shows and disputes, and keep clients happy when things go wrong.
  • Permanent and contract hires. You'll also place site managers, supervisors, foremen and other key staff when clients need them.
  • Helping shape the business. You'll have real input into processes, rate cards, terms and how the agency grows.

What you'll bring

This role is for a tried and tested construction recruiter. At a minimum, you'll be an established 360 consultant with a proven, verifiable track record. That means a desk you've built and run yourself, clients you've won and kept, and consistent billings to show for it.

We'd also welcome applications from people who have direct, hands-on experience of every tier of construction recruitment, including:

  • Business development: winning, growing and keeping contractor accounts
  • Compliance: CSCS and trade card checks, right to work, CIS and worker status, site safety requirements and audit-ready records
  • Candidate onboarding: registering, vetting and onboarding trades and operatives so they're fully compliant and site-ready before their first shift
  • Delivery and workforce management: filling orders, managing timesheets, rates and margins, and running a large temporary or self-employed workforce week in, week out

We'll also be looking for:

  • A strong working knowledge of the construction industry, trades, site roles and how contractors buy labour
  • Existing contacts and credibility in the South West construction market, which is a strong advantage
  • The confidence to win business, the organisation to deliver it, and the resilience to deal with the busy weeks
  • A full UK driving licence is essential. The role involves regular travel to sites and client meetings across the South West, so applications without one won't go forward to interview.

This isn't a development role, and it isn't suited to anyone who is still finding their feet in construction recruitment. Our client needs a tried and tested recruiter who has done the job for real and has the results to prove it. If you've covered every stage, from winning the client to getting a compliant worker on site, you'll be well placed to help build this agency from scratch.

What's on offer

  • From 32,500 basic plus uncapped commission
  • The chance to be a founding member of a new agency, with real influence over how it's built
  • The freedom to get on with the job your way, without being micromanaged
  • A clear route to leading the business as it grows, with B Shares / directorship potential
  • Directors who are easy to reach and involved in the business, with no corporate red tape
  • Company laptop and mobile phone
  • Branded work vehicle for business mileage
