Ilkeston (Commutable from: Nottingham, Derby, Mansfield, Chesterfield, Loughborough, Leicester, Burton upon Trent, Newark-on-Trent)
Are you from a CMM / Metrology background, looking for Full Training and clear Career Progression into specialist, customer-facing technical work? Do you have CMM programming experience and want a role where your expertise is valued and developed long-term?
This is a permanent position with a well-established precision engineering technology business, offering structured development, strong technical exposure, and the chance to become a recognised expert. You'll be backed with proper investment in training and rewarded with a strong package and performance-based bonuses.
You'll be joining a small, specialist team with an excellent reputation, working with high-profile engineering customers across multiple sectors. The business is growing, retains staff well, and supports engineers who want to deepen their technical capability and take on more responsibility over time.
You'll be based from Ilkeston with some UK travel to customer sites (typically spread across the year) delivering CMM programming, applications support, and technical training once developed.
This role suits a technically driven engineer who wants structured training, specialist development, and long-term progression through depth of skill rather than a "same job, same day" routine.
The Role:
- CMM applications/programming and technical support, primarily site-based with some UK customer visits
- Develop into delivering customer training / demonstrations as a technical specialist
- Monday to Friday days (8:00-16:30, early finish Friday) with occasional overnight travel as required
The Person:
- Engineering / metrology / quality background with CMM exposure
- Experience with PC-DMIS or PolyWorks (or transferable CMM software experience)
- Full UK driving licence and able to meet security clearance requirements (British National / UK residency history as required)
