Senior Systems Administrator

Position Overview

We are seeking a hands-on Senior Systems Administrator to join a nine-person IT team supporting approximately 500 employees across 30 locations. This is a fully onsite role that combines systems administration with end-user support in a collaborative, fast-moving environment.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience with VMware vCenter, networking, and backup technologies. We re looking for someone who is proactive, customer-focused, and willing to jump in wherever needed rather than waiting for work to come to them.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer and troubleshoot VMware vCenter and virtual infrastructure
• Support and troubleshoot network infrastructure across multiple locations
• Manage and maintain backup and recovery systems
• Provide systems administration and help desk support as needed
• Troubleshoot server, network, hardware, and end-user technology issues
• Occasionally travel to company locations for hands-on work, including cabling, network equipment, and security cameras
• Proactively identify issues and opportunities to improve the IT environment
• Provide patient, professional support to users with varying levels of technical knowledge

Qualifications

• Strong experience with VMware vCenter
• Strong networking knowledge; CCNA or equivalent experience preferred
• Experience with backup technologies such as Veeam
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Self-motivated with a proactive, hands-on approach
• Comfortable supporting both infrastructure and end-user needs
• Ability to travel to company locations as needed
