The Opportunity

StaffRight Associates is recruiting for an ERP Technical Operations Manager (Epicor) to lead ERP and business systems initiatives for a well-established manufacturing company in the Syracuse area. This hands-on leadership role suits a seasoned technology professional with deep technical ERP skills and a practical grasp of manufacturing operations. The ERP Technical Operations Manager (Epicor) will be directly involved in ERP administration, configuration, troubleshooting, enhancements, and the evaluation of potential ERP platforms. This is a full-time, partially remote (hybrid) position based in Syracuse, New York.

The right person is a decisive, results-focused problem solver who spots obstacles, works through roadblocks, and carries technology initiatives to the finish line. You will partner with leaders in operations, finance, supply chain, engineering, and production to sharpen processes, reporting, workflows, system adoption, and data accuracy, with broad exposure across the business and a direct influence on its ERP technology strategy.

What You'll Do

  • Act as the company's primary in-house expert on its ERP environment.
  • Stay hands-on with ERP configuration, administration, troubleshooting, reporting, support, and ongoing optimization.
  • Assess ERP functionality against business needs to uncover system improvements and process efficiencies.
  • Research and compare alternative ERP systems when appropriate, weighing functionality, capabilities, and business fit.
  • Deliver ERP enhancements, integrations, reports, dashboards, and customizations for manufacturing, inventory, purchasing, finance, and operational decisions.
  • Lead ERP upgrades, testing, documentation, training, and data-quality programs.
  • Anticipate project obstacles and drive solutions that keep initiatives and deliverables on track.
  • Align departments on priorities, resolve issues, and clear roadblocks so projects finish successfully.
  • Champion consistent ERP use and accurate, dependable data across functions.
  • Partner with department heads to streamline workflows, cut manual work, improve reporting, and raise efficiency through technology.
  • Coordinate with ERP vendors and outside consultants to fix technical issues and deliver improvements.

What You Bring

Required

  • 8+ years of progressive experience in IT, ERP, or business systems leadership
  • Hands-on technical expertise in ERP Configuration, ERP Administration, ERP Reporting, Troubleshooting, and System Support

  • Proven ERP Evaluation experience, assessing platforms and alternative solutions against business requirements
  • A track record of owning technology initiatives and driving Project Management through obstacles to completion
  • Experience with ERP Vendor Management and third-party consultants
  • Knowledge of Cybersecurity and IT Governance
  • Strong Problem Solving, Decision Making, Communication, and Collaboration
  • Ability to translate business requirements into practical technology solutions, manage competing priorities, and lead independently
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without employer sponsorship

Preferred
