Job Description

Engineering Manager Opportunity for a dynamic Engineering Manager to lead and develop the engineering and planning function at this part 145 aviation maintenance organisation in Harlow.

This is a hands-on leadership role combining people management with technical ownership and project delivery-ideal for someone who enjoys building teams, improving processes, and driving engineering excellence.

Key Responsibilities Lead, mentor and develop the engineering and planning teams, promoting collaboration, innovation and high standards.<br />Support performance management, coaching, and career development plans for engineers.<br />Recruit, onboard and retain top engineering talent.<br />Oversee end-to-end delivery of engineering projects, ensuring quality, time and budget targets are achieved.<br />Work closely with Planning, Quality and other stakeholders to define scope, requirements, milestones and resource plans.<br />Allocate resources effectively and prioritise workload to maximise productivity and output quality.<br />Drive technical decision-making and promote best practice in machining and engineering.<br />Identify bottlenecks and implement improvements to processes, workflows and controls.<br />Communicate project status, risks and milestones clearly to senior leadership and non-technical stakeholders.<br />Ensure outputs meet relevant standards, security policies and regulatory requirements; manage approved data and technical publications.<br />Undertake other duties within your capabilities as required.

Requirements Minimum 5 years' engineering experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership/management role.<br />A solid understanding of Part 145 aviation maintenance,<br />Proven experience delivering engineering projects.<br />Strong technical background and the ability to read and interpret technical drawings.<br />Excellent leadership, communication and people management skills.<br />Proactive problem-solver with a continuous improvement mindset.
