Job Description

Engineering Team Leader / Assistant Engineering Manager Nights

Salary:Up to£65,000DOE
Location:Evesham, Worcestershire

Orion Electrotech are working with a leading manufacturing business who are looking for an ambitious engineering professional ready to take the next step in their career.

This opportunity is ideal for aSenior Engineer, Lead Engineer or Engineering Team Leaderlooking to progress into an Engineering Manager position whilst remaining heavily involved on the tools.

This is a60% hands-on / 40% managementrole, where you'll continue to utilise your maintenance and fault-finding expertise while developing your leadership skills and taking responsibility for managing a team of engineers on shift.

As part of the role, the business will also support you through aLevel 5 Management Qualification, providing a clear pathway towards a fully-fledged Engineering Manager position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support the engineering team during night shifts.
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance activities.
  • Provide hands-on support during breakdowns and fault-finding activities.
  • Coordinate engineering workloads and ensure maintenance tasks are completed efficiently.
  • Work closely with Production, Operations and Quality teams to minimise downtime.
  • Support continuous improvement projects to increase equipment reliability and plant efficiency.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities are carried out safely and in line with company procedures.
  • Assist with performance management, training and development of engineers on shift.
  • Ensure equipment is production-ready and operating at maximum efficiency.

Skills & Experience

  • Proven maintenance engineering experience withinFood Manufacturing, FMCG, Manufacturing or Aerospaceenvironments.
  • Strong mechanical and/or electrical maintenance background.
  • Previous experience leading or mentoring engineers.
  • Hands-on approach with excellent fault-finding skills.
  • Passion for developing into a management position.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
