Salary: £45,000–£50,000 - £60,000+ OTE, Company Van and other benefits!

Are you an experienced Service Engineer or Mechanical Maintenance Engineer looking for a varied, field-based role with opportunities to develop your career?

We're recruiting for a growing, family-run engineering business specialising in machinery maintenance, overhauls and refurbishment for major manufacturing and FMCG clients.

The Role

Working in a team of two, you'll travel to customer sites to carry out planned mechanical maintenance, machinery overhauls and equipment refurbishment.

Key responsibilities:

• Strip down machinery and replace worn or damaged components.
• Maintain and overhaul conveyors, process lines and industrial machinery.
• Work with bearings, gearboxes, belts, chains, sprockets, pumps and valves.
• Complete the majority of work on customer sites, with some workshop refurbishment when required.
• Build strong relationships with customers through good communication and a professional approach.

What We're Looking For

• Previous experience in mechanical maintenance, fitting or machinery overhauls.
• Strong practical mechanical skills and the ability to identify components.
• A hands-on, adaptable approach with a willingness to get stuck in.
• Good communication skills and confidence working directly with customers.

Qualifications are beneficial, but practical experience and the right attitude are what matter most.

What's on Offer?

• £45,000–£50,000 salary.
• Company van and paid travel time, door to door.
• Monday–Friday working pattern.
• Overtime paid at time and a half.
• 20 days' holiday plus 8 bank holidays, with additional days for service.
• Training opportunities, including IPAF and confined spaces.
• Potential progression into supervisory or project-based roles as the business grows.

Most work is within an hour of Witham, meaning you'll usually be home each evening. Occasional stays away are required, with hotels and meals covered by the company.
