Role Type: 6-month contract (can extend/convert)

Location: Ft. Worth, TX (5 days onsite)

Senior/Mid-Level Software Engineer (C/Linux Modernization) 

Position Overview

We are seeking experienced Software Engineers to support a critical modernization effort for a mission-focused maintenance application supporting defense operations. The ideal candidate will have strong C++ development experience, a background working with legacy applications, and the ability to independently analyze and modernize complex software systems with limited documentation.

Responsibilities

• Enhance and modernize large legacy C+ applications.
• Migrate software from Solaris 32-bit environments to modern Linux/RHEL 64-bit platforms.
• Analyze and maintain existing codebases with limited documentation.
• Develop and maintain Oracle database integrations.
• Create and enhance SQL queries, stored procedures, and business logic.
• Perform unit testing using Google Test and adhere to software development standards.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, PI planning, daily standups, and retrospectives.
• Collaborate with architects, developers, and product stakeholders to deliver modernization objectives.
• Support integration efforts involving REST APIs and modern application interfaces.

Required Qualifications

• Active Secret Security Clearance.
• 5+ years (Mid-Level) or 8+ years (Senior-Level) software development experience.
• Strong C++ programming experience.
• Experience developing on Linux or Unix platforms.
• Experience working with legacy applications and modernization projects.
• Oracle database development experience.
• Strong SQL and stored procedure experience.
• Experience with object-oriented design principles.
• Experience in Agile software development environments.

Preferred Qualifications

• Java development experience.
• C# development experience.
• REST API development experience.
• OpenAPI familiarity.
• Experience supporting Department of Defense programs.
• Experience reverse engineering systems with limited documentation.
• Google Test experience.

Clearance Requirement

• Active Secret Clearance Required.
