Job Title: CBSIG Data Engineer

Location: Columbus, OH (Onsite. Local candidates required.)

Duration: Contract - 3 months. Strong possibility of extension.

Pay Range: $50/hr - $55.14/hr (W2)

Job Description

We are seeking a CBSIG Data Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Amazon Aurora PostgreSQL, PostgreSQL, AWS Glue, Apache Airflow, and Python and a proven ability to design and deliver enterprise-scale data migrations and ETL/ELT pipelines in AWS.

Responsibilities:

• Analyze SQL Server schemas, stored procedures, views, indexes, and workloads.


• Design PostgreSQL migration strategies for Aurora PostgreSQL.


• Convert and optimize T-SQL objects and queries for Aurora PostgreSQL.


• Identify SQL Server-to-PostgreSQL compatibility gaps and propose solutions.


• Develop remediation approaches for migration issues and support schema conversion.


• Support data migration, reconciliation, testing, and production cutover.


• Troubleshoot and stabilize production issues post-cutover.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field.


• 10+ years of industry experience across core data engineering skills.


• Strong hands-on experience with Amazon Aurora PostgreSQL and PostgreSQL.


• Expert-level SQL development and query performance tuning.


• Deep knowledge of PostgreSQL architecture, including indexing, execution plans, partitioning, and statistics.


• Experience with Microsoft SQL Server, T-SQL conversion, and optimization.


• Broad hands-on experience with AWS, including S3, IAM, Secrets Manager, and CloudWatch.


• Hands-on AWS Glue experience, including Jobs, Crawlers, Data Catalog, and workflows.


• Strong Python development for data processing, automation, validation, and AWS SDK (Boto3).


• Designing, developing, and supporting Apache Airflow DAGs in production.


• Enterprise-scale ETL/ELT pipeline development.

Preferred Skills:

• Amazon MWAA, AWS Schema Conversion Tool, PySpark, AWS Lambda.


• CI/CD pipelines, Git, GitHub, and Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform and CloudFormation.


• Database monitoring and observability tools.


• GitHub Copilot or other enterprise AI coding assistants.
