Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Cloud/Application Architect to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in cloud architecture, infrastructure design, and ITSM-driven solutioning and a proven ability to translate business requirements into secure, scalable technical designs and deliver end-to-end infrastructure solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Engage with business stakeholders to review the Business Requirements Document and clarify needs.


• Translate business requirements into technical requirements and solution designs.


• Identify and collaborate with Technology Infrastructure SMEs for design discussions and decisions.


• Produce Low Level Designs using the ITSM Framework's Service Request Design Console.


• Create High Level Designs in Visio and Adobe aligned to approved standards.


• Apply BAC Reference Architecture standards and bank frameworks to deliver supported solutions.


• Identify non-standard products and drive resolution with the appropriate parties.


• Partner with the Chief Engineer and Capacity Planner on hosting targets and sizing for CPU, memory, and storage.


• Document issues, risks, assumptions, and key decisions impacting design and delivery.


• Detail LLD elements including compute, memory, storage (NAS/SAN, size, ownership), backups, retention, file systems, application tiers, hosting locations, AD OUs, maintenance windows, and required software.


• Communicate status and escalate issues with the Technology Project Manager as needed.


• Coordinate with Supply Chain Management to obtain hardware quotes when applicable.


• Conduct reviews with SMEs to obtain cost and design signoffs.


• Maintain and publish accurate design deliverables in the project repository.


• Support Technology Project Managers throughout the project lifecycle.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Ability to design end-to-end infrastructure solutions across application, middleware, database, and hosting layers.


• Strong knowledge of cloud and cloud-based technologies, with experience in Oracle Cloud or AWS.


• Understanding of network infrastructure including HTTP, TCP, DNS, and load balancers.


• Knowledge of database technologies and interfaces.


• Proficiency creating conceptual and detailed designs using Microsoft Visio and relevant documentation tools.


• Familiarity with ITSM processes and SR Design Console-driven design workflows.


• Experience with PMM/DSES processes and required outputs.


• Strong leadership and communication skills with customer service focus and influencing ability.


• Ability to meet committed deliverable dates with required quality.

Preferred Skills:

• Cloud security knowledge and application across design and delivery.


• Background as a software developer to support application-aware infrastructure designs.
