Job Description
Job Purpose: FDLE requires the services of one Business Analyst to work under the direction of FDLE’s assigned Project Manager to assist in the research and documentation of a new RMS solution for AIMS. The Business Analyst is expected to perform the tasks and specific assignments given by FDLE’s assigned Project Manager.
About the Candidate: Qualifications Education - Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or other related field or equivalent work experience.
This position requires the following experience and/or knowledge:
• Minimum of 3 years of experience on successful, enterprise level information technology projects; • Minimum of 3 years of experience in integration of multiple systems or applications; • Minimum of 3 years of experience in gathering and documenting business requirements (functional and non-functional) on full life cycle development projects; • Minimum of 3 years of experience conducting JAD sessions with multi-cross functional agencies and stakeholders; • Minimum of 3 years of experience creating comprehensive Test Plans and use of automated testing tools; • Extensive knowledge of Business Process Model and Notation (BPMN) • Experience with meeting facilitation and requirements documentation; • Experience with business analysis and gathering and documenting requirements • Ability to gather and evaluate customer requirements and needs. • Strong communication and collaborative skills; and • Excellent oral, written and communication skills; • Ability to work independently or cooperatively with other software developers; • Ability to deliver the assignments of the project in the agreed schedule, to the correct technical specification (i.e. defined to meet user requirements) within the specified criteria; • Accountable to the FDLE assigned Project Manager for all phases of specific projects.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or other related field or equivalent work experience • Experience with development in Java Frameworks (.JSF) and J2EE • MS-Visio • JIRA • Silk Central • Business Analyst Certification
Primary Job, Duties and Tasks
• Documenting business processes at a high level as well as a detailed flow; • Collection, analysis, review, and documentation of business requirements • Gathering business requirements (functional and non-functional) • Creating and updating detailed requirements and documentation • Creating traceability matrices to map business requirements to test cases • Creating use case and test case scenarios documentation • Experience with automated test tools and creating performance and load testing/metrics • Experience creating system, integration, and performance test plans • Performing test case scenarios following the FDLE methodology of development testing, System testing, and User Acceptance testing • Assisting with JAD sessions with cross-jurisdictional agencies and stakeholders • Assisting with the coordination of project deliverables • Ensuring that proposed system architecture design, software and hardware solutions are professionally documented. • Contributor to activity definition, activity sequencing, activity resource estimating, activity duration estimating, WBS development • Contributor to risk identification, tracking, analysis • Contributor to issue management and tracking • Effective communication among project stakeholders • Provide weekly status reports to the project manager • Assist in user training for a train-the-trainer approach • Ensure customer expectations are met with the project; • Contributor to Division of State Technology required deliverables according to the Risk and Complexity Assessments; • Assist with the production implementation as needed; • Assist with keeping system documentation current
