Job description
Half Desk, Half Kids: One Full-Time Job with Real Benefits
Mountain Valley Property Management | EagleVail, CO
$26 to $36 per hour + overtime + full benefits
Full-time, year-round | Monday to Friday, 10am to 6pm during the school year | Full-day childcare on school breaks and in summer
Spanish a plus | Applications accepted on an ongoing basis
The Opportunity
Mountain Valley Property Management (MVPM) is creating a full-time role that combines office administration with after-school childcare for the families on our team. Part-time nanny hours are hard to build a life on, so we built one steady job with full benefits: mornings and early afternoons at our EagleVail office, then school pickups and after-school care for a small group (up to four) of elementary-age children of Mountain Valley team members.
For over 20 years we have managed homeowners associations throughout the Vail Valley. Our office runs on organized people who keep owners, board members, and vendors moving. Our families run on someone the kids trust. This job is both.
Why This Role Stands Out
- Full-time pay and benefits for childcare work: Health insurance contribution, 401(k) match, paid time off, and paid sick time, which most nanny jobs do not offer
- Variety every day: Desk work in the morning, kids in the afternoon
- Year-round stability: Same pay range all year; school breaks and summers become full childcare days, not lost hours
- A company vehicle for pickups: You do not put miles on your own car
- A team behind you: You support the office and the families of people you work with every day, with clear routines and backup when you need it
What You Will Do
Office Administration (school year, about 10am to 2:30pm)
- Answer the main office phone line and greet owners, board members, and vendors at our EagleVail office
- Open, scan, log, and route incoming mail, checks, and invoices
- Scan and file association documents, and keep digital records organized and easy to find
- Update owner contact information and records in our property management software
- Prepare owner mailings, notices, and board meeting packets for our Community Association Managers
- Schedule meetings, keep the shared calendar current, and order office supplies
- Keep the office stocked, tidy, and ready for visitors
After-School Care (school year, about 2:30pm to 6pm)
- Pick up children from local elementary schools in a company vehicle, on time, every day
- Provide safe, engaged care: snacks, homework help, reading, outdoor play, and activities
- Drive children to after-school activities and appointments as scheduled with each family
- Follow each family's routines, allergy and medical instructions, and emergency plans
- Keep parents updated by text with pickup confirmations and a quick note on the day
- Hand off each child to a parent or authorized adult at the end of the day
School Breaks and Summer (full days)
- Provide full-day care on school breaks, teacher work days, and in summer
- Plan a weekly mix of outdoor time, local outings, library visits, and quiet activities, shared with families in advance
- Coordinate drop-offs at camps and activities with families
- Office work fills any gaps when no children are scheduled
What Your Week Looks Like
During the school year you arrive at our EagleVail office at 10am, work through the phones, mail, and the day's admin list, and wrap up your desk by about 2:30. Then you take the company vehicle for school pickups, get everyone a snack, and settle into homework, play, and activities until parents pick up at 6. On school breaks and through the summer, the whole day is with the kids, with outings and activities planned ahead and shared with families each week.
