Contract Length: 12 Months (Potential Extension Based on Business Need and Funding)
Pay Rate: $56.25 - $60/hour OT40
Top Requirements:

5+ years of Agile Product Ownership, Product Management, Scrum, Business Analysis, or Data Product Management experience.

Strong experience managing and prioritizing product backlogs, defining user stories, features, and acceptance criteria.

Experience with Data Product Management, including data governance, data quality, metadata, lineage, reporting, analytics, and enterprise data platforms.

Expertise using Jira and Confluence for backlog management, dependency tracking, prioritization, and Agile delivery execution.

Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to work across business, technology, governance, risk, compliance, and delivery teams.

Plusses:

Agile certifications such as CSPO, PSPO, SAFe POPM, SAFe Agilist, or PMI-ACP.

Experience with enterprise data warehouses, cloud-based data platforms, reporting, analytics, and data governance programs.

Financial services or other highly regulated industry experience.

Experience supporting data quality remediation, platform modernization, and governance initiatives.

Strong understanding of regulatory, audit, compliance, and risk management requirements.

Job Summary:
The Agile Data Product Owner will serve as the business authority for a defined data product area within the Chief Administrative Office (CAO) Data Analytics & Insights organization. This role is responsible for translating strategic business priorities into a well-managed product backlog that delivers trusted, governed, and business-aligned data capabilities.
The consultant will partner with Product Managers, Data Analysts, Technology teams, Data Governance teams, Risk and Compliance partners, and business stakeholders to prioritize work, manage dependencies, define acceptance criteria, and drive delivery execution. The role focuses on maximizing business value, ensuring governance alignment, and supporting enterprise data modernization initiatives.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

• Own and prioritize the product backlog to align with product strategy, business priorities, and stakeholder needs.
• Define and refine features, user stories, acceptance criteria, and business readiness requirements.
• Partner with Product Managers to align roadmap priorities and product vision.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies including daily standups, backlog refinement, sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives, and Product Owner synchronization sessions.
• Collaborate with Data Governance, Technology, Risk, Compliance, and business stakeholders to ensure policy and regulatory alignment.
• Manage dependencies across teams, products, and shared data capabilities.
• Translate data product requirements into actionable delivery work involving data sourcing, ingestion, metadata, lineage, data quality, reporting, analytics, and governance requirements.
• Review completed work and formally accept delivery based on acceptance criteria and Definition of Done.
• Support Program Increment (PI) Planning activities including dependency management, feature sequencing, capacity alignment, and objective development.
• Define, monitor, and communicate product success metrics, adoption metrics, business value outcomes, and data quality objectives.
• Facilitate stakeholder alignment and provide transparency into delivery progress, risks, priorities, and dependencies.
