The Boeing Company is currently seeking a Product Owner (experienced or senior) support our Mission System Software team located in Berkeley, MO. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security and BDS business organization.
We are looking for software engineers to act as a product owner and lead software teams. This includes mentoring other engineers, working to define a team roadmap and leading software team execution. The teams implement various features of safety critical and/or mission critical flight software. This role will be primarily focused on leading a team from planning and breaking down work to executing and testing the work. This includes managing the backlog of work, defining user stories, communicating clear goals, participating in and leading planning events, and signing off on accepted work. Candidates will utilize agile experience to define, prioritize, and lead software development on a variety of capability areas including tactical software, weapons engagement, and mission processing software.
Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including Experienced and/or Senior Product Owners.
Position Responsibilities:
Designs, develops, tests, debugs and maintains software that is integrated into embedded devices and systems and meets industry, customer, safety and regulation standards
Reviews, analyzes, and translates customer requirements into the design of software products for embedded devices and systems
Builds and writes code for embedded systems software to run on specific specialized hardware
Integrates embedded software with hardware components
Analyzes, monitors and improves the efficiency and stability of embedded software systems
Tests and debugs software for embedded devices and systems
Implements current and emerging technologies, tools, frameworks, and changes in regulations relevant to software development and hardware technologies
Advises on software and hardware integration domains
Tracks and evaluates internal and supplier software team performance to ensure product and process compliance to project plans and industry standards
Performs embedded software project management functions
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):
Bachelor's Degree
This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship
Ability to obtain access to Special Access Programs (SAP)
2 or more years Product owner or software leadership experience
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Level 4: 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience debugging and troubleshooting technical problems involving computer memory or timing considerations
Experience or familiarity with industry tools or development techniques such as the following; Embedded System Software, C, C++, Rust, Linux, VxWorks, Containers, Git, CI/CD DevSecOps, and/or Cameo
Experience in systems integration with systems engineering processes and procedures
Strong verbal and written skills, teaming skills, technical skills, and integration skills

Summary Pay Range for Experienced level (Level 3): $126,650 - $171,350
Summary Pay Range for Senior level (Level 4): $160,650 - $217,350
