Java Backend Developer

Position Summary:
We are seeking a Java Backend Developer to design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-performance backend applications and APIs. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Java, Spring Framework, Apache Kafka, AWS, and REST API development. Exposure to AI/Generative AI technologies is a plus but not required.

Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise-grade backend applications using Java and Spring Boot.
Build and enhance RESTful APIs for internal and external integrations.
Develop event-driven applications using Apache Kafka for asynchronous messaging and real-time data processing.
Design and deploy cloud-native solutions on AWS, leveraging services such as EC2, ECS/EKS, Lambda, S3, RDS, API Gateway, CloudWatch, and IAM.
Optimize application performance, scalability, reliability, and security.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product, QA, DevOps, and Architects to deliver high-quality software.
Participate in code reviews, unit testing, integration testing, and CI/CD processes.
Troubleshoot production issues and implement sustainable solutions.
Stay current with emerging backend technologies and cloud best practices.
Explore AI/Generative AI capabilities to improve application functionality where appropriate (preferred, not mandatory).

Required Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in backend software development.
Strong programming experience with Java (Java 11/17+).
Hands-on experience with Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data, and Spring Security.
Strong experience with Apache Kafka or similar messaging platforms.
Solid experience developing and consuming RESTful APIs.
Strong experience building and deploying applications on AWS.
Experience with relational or NoSQL databases.
Familiarity with Git, Maven/Gradle, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines.
Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
Exposure to AI/Generative AI, LLMs, or AI-assisted application development.
Experience with Kubernetes/EKS, Terraform, or Infrastructure as Code.
Knowledge of microservices architecture and event-driven systems.
Familiarity with monitoring tools such as CloudWatch, Prometheus, or Grafana.
