Job Title - Senior Software Engineer III

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Java Developer with 5+ years of hands-on experience in designing, developing, and maintaining enterprise-grade applications. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, AWS cloud services, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), and CI/CD automation using Jenkins. This role requires participation throughout the software development lifecycle, from requirements analysis and design to deployment, support, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable and high-performance Java applications.
  • Participate in the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including requirements gathering, analysis, design, development, testing, deployment, and support.
  • Develop RESTful APIs and microservices using Spring Boot and related frameworks.
  • Design and implement cloud-native solutions leveraging AWS services.
  • Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform.
  • Develop and manage CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins to automate build, testing, and deployment processes.
  • Perform code reviews, debugging, and troubleshooting to ensure software quality and reliability.
  • Collaborate with architects, product owners, business analysts, and cross-functional teams to deliver robust solutions.
  • Integrate applications with internal and external systems using APIs, messaging, and cloud services.
  • Conduct performance tuning, optimization, and application monitoring.
  • Implement security best practices, coding standards, and compliance requirements.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, design artifacts, and operational procedures.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend improvements to enhance application performance and development efficiency.
  • Support production deployments and resolve application issues as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of professional software development experience using Java.
  • Strong experience with Java 8/11/17 and object-oriented design principles.
  • Hands-on experience developing microservices using Spring Boot.
  • Experience with REST APIs, JSON, and API integration.
  • Strong knowledge of AWS services such as:
    • EC2
    • ECS/EKS
    • Lambda
    • S3
    • RDS
    • CloudWatch
    • IAM
    • VPC
  • Experience using Terraform for infrastructure provisioning and management.
  • Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins.
  • Proficiency with Git and source code management practices.
  • Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or Oracle.
  • Strong understanding of software design patterns, data structures, and algorithms.
  • Experience with automated testing frameworks such as JUnit and Mockito.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Knowledge of messaging platforms such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or AWS SQS/SNS.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
  • Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Splunk, ELK, Grafana, or Prometheus.
  • Knowledge of DevSecOps practices and cloud security principles.

AWS Certification (Developer Associate, Solutions Architect, or equivalent) is a plus
