Economic Analyst (Base in Beijing) - Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank

Economic Analyst The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) is a multilateral development bank whose mission is financing Infrastructure for Tomorrow in Asia and beyond - infrastructure with sustainability at its core. The Economics Department, headed by the Chief Economist, is responsible for providing thought leadership and high-quality analyses to guide the policy and investment program of the Bank. This position is in the macroeconomics team within the Economics Department. The analyst will conduct country analyses and research on development, macroeconomics, and infrastructure-related issues, and provide country coverage to support the activities of the Bank. Additionally, the analyst will work with other teams within the department to support projects and other activities as required.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct analyses and research, independently or in teams, on macroeconomics, country economics, development finance, infrastructure, climate, and other issues, as required.
• Retrieve and prepare data, statistics, and market information to support analytical work.
• Prepare background material for senior management's engagements, such as talking points, speeches, and briefs.
• Conduct project cost-benefit analyses or reviews, as required. Support project teams in preparing selected projects.
• Help the department build research relationships with external partners.
• Assist in preparing and disseminating AIIB's reports.
• Assist in organizing workshops and seminars, including with respect to content and logistics.
• Work with the Chief Economist on other assigned tasks.

Requirements:

• A bachelor's or master's degree from an internationally recognized institution in economics, public policy, or finance.
• One to four years of professional experience (with a master's degree) or two to five years of professional experience (with a bachelor's degree).
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
• Proficiency in common econometrics techniques and statistical software, data analysis, AI, and data visualization.
• Familiarity with techniques and methods used in macroeconomic assessments, country economics, debt sustainability analyses, and development economics and finance. Experience in infrastructure economics will be beneficial.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
