Senior Project Manager – Industrial / Manufacturing Capital Projects

Location: Atlanta, GA / Grand Rapids, MI / Dallas, TX / Milwaukee, WI
Job Type: Full-Time
Work Arrangement: Onsite / Hybrid based on project requirements
Compensation: Up to $150K base + 19% annual bonus
Experience: 8+ years of project management experience

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead complex industrial, manufacturing, automation, and capital projects from initial concept and scope development through design, construction, installation, commissioning, and final handover.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background managing CAPEX projects, manufacturing facilities, industrial equipment, automation, material handling, construction, engineering, vendors, and cross-functional teams. Candidates should be comfortable working with engineering, operations, contractors, OEMs, suppliers, and executive stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of complex industrial and manufacturing capital projects.
  • Manage projects from concept, feasibility, scope development and design through construction, installation, commissioning and startup.
  • Develop and manage project schedules, milestones, budgets, resources, risks and dependencies.
  • Manage CAPEX budgets, forecasting, cost control, change management and financial reporting.
  • Coordinate engineering, construction, procurement, operations, maintenance, quality and other cross-functional teams.
  • Manage OEMs, contractors, subcontractors, suppliers and third-party vendors.
  • Lead equipment installation, integration, testing, commissioning and operational readiness.
  • Review project scope, specifications, drawings, estimates and technical deliverables.
  • Establish project governance, reporting and stakeholder communication processes.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks, schedule impacts, cost overruns and technical issues.
  • Lead project meetings and provide regular status updates to senior leadership.
  • Support business cases, capital investment decisions and project prioritization.
  • Ensure projects comply with applicable safety, quality, regulatory and company requirements.
  • Drive successful project closeout, documentation, turnover and lessons learned.

Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years of project management experience, preferably in industrial, manufacturing, automation, engineering or capital projects.
  • Proven experience managing industrial/manufacturing facility projects.
  • Experience managing CAPEX projects from concept through commissioning/startup.
  • Strong experience with project budgeting, cost control, forecasting and financial management.
  • Experience managing engineering, construction, equipment installation and commissioning activities.
  • Strong vendor, contractor and subcontractor management experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple workstreams and cross-functional teams.
  • Strong project scheduling, risk management and stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Bachelor''s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, Business, or a related field preferred.
  • PMP certification Mandatory.
