Job Description

Job Description
An enterprise technology team is hiring a Lead IAM Security & Reliability Engineer in Irving, TX to take ownership of the operational security and stability of a critical Identity and Access Management application portfolio.

This engineer will operate at the intersection of cybersecurity, production engineering, infrastructure, and application support. Rather than focusing on one narrow area of security, the position covers the full operational lifecycle of enterprise IAM platforms-from identifying technical risk and remediating vulnerabilities to restoring services during outages and improving long-term platform resiliency.

You will lead efforts around vulnerability assessment and remediation, production readiness, incident coordination, reliability engineering, operational monitoring, infrastructure support, and platform modernization. When major incidents occur, this person will serve as a senior escalation point, help direct technical response activities, determine root causes, and ensure preventative improvements are implemented afterward.

Another key responsibility will be strengthening visibility into application performance and system health. This includes improving logging, telemetry, distributed tracing, dashboards, alert thresholds, and other observability capabilities.

The engineer will also coordinate infrastructure and environment activities involving cloud services, databases, networking, middleware, certificates, service accounts, deployment environments, and high-availability configurations.
Required Skills & Experience
  • Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in security engineering, SRE, DevOps, platform engineering, application engineering, or a related field
  • Proven experience maintaining mission-critical applications
  • Deep understanding of vulnerability identification, prioritization, remediation, and validation
  • Strong application security and security risk assessment knowledge
  • Experience directing or heavily participating in major production incidents
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex application and infrastructure issues
  • Working knowledge of operational telemetry, event monitoring, logging, and alerting
  • Experience with enterprise release and change controls
  • Background working with cloud-based and highly available systems
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to coordinate teams during high-impact technical events
Desired Skills & Experience
  • Identity and Access Management technology experience
  • Identity Governance platform knowledge
  • Azure-based application or infrastructure experience
  • Kubernetes and containerized application experience
  • OpenShift exposure
  • Experience building or improving monitoring and APM capabilities
  • Business continuity and disaster recovery experience
  • Knowledge of RTO and RPO concepts
  • ITIL-based incident and change management experience
  • CI/CD pipeline and deployment automation experience
  • DevSecOps background
  • Security or cloud certifications are beneficial
What You Will Be Doing Daily Responsibilities
  • Own security and operational health initiatives across enterprise IAM applications
  • Identify application, container, infrastructure, and open-source vulnerabilities
  • Work with development teams to prioritize and complete security remediation
  • Evaluate security risks and recommend technical controls
  • Take command of technical triage during significant service interruptions
  • Coordinate restoration efforts across application, infrastructure, and cybersecurity groups
  • Analyze recurring production problems and eliminate underlying causes
  • Establish meaningful reliability, incident, and vulnerability metrics
  • Improve MTTD and MTTR across supported services
  • Build stronger monitoring, logging, tracing, and alerting capabilities
  • Assist with capacity planning, failover design, traffic management, and load balancing
  • Coordinate platform upgrades, environment maintenance, and infrastructure changes
  • Validate implementation and rollback plans before major releases
  • Help plan and execute disaster recovery exercises
  • Promote automation and standardization throughout operational processes
