Local candidates only. Strong SCO Unix administration experience is required. Candidates should have DCR or COBOL programming experience, with experience supporting legacy DCR applications on SCO Unix.

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Application Technical Specialist with a strong background in Unix administration and legacy application support to maintain and support mission-critical processing systems.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with SCO UnixWare administration, DCR programming, Unix shell scripting, and production support for legacy applications. Experience supporting legacy DCR applications running on SCO Unix is highly important for this role.

What You'll Do

Support and maintain legacy DCR applications operating on SCO Unix platforms.
Administer and support SCO UnixWare environments.
Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot Unix shell scripts used in batch processing operations.
Monitor and support mission-critical processing systems in production environments.
Perform flat-file processing and manage scheduled batch jobs.
Debug, analyze, and reverse engineer legacy code with limited or outdated documentation.
Collaborate with business users, developers, and technical teams to resolve application issues and implement enhancements.
Evaluate system modifications and recommend improvements to application functionality and performance.
Identify and implement best practices, standards, and process improvements to ensure high-quality service delivery.
Coordinate development and support activities across application teams as needed.
Create and maintain technical documentation related to application functionality, support procedures, and system changes.
Participate in incident resolution, root cause analysis, and ongoing production support activities.
