IT Project Manager

Genesis10 is currently seeking an IT Project Manager / Scrum Master for a contract position with a Global Financial Institution located in Charlotte, NC or Pennington, NJ or Plano, TX. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity.

This role is for an experienced Agile IT Project Manager or Scrum Master responsible for guiding teams and the Agile Release Train (ART). The successful candidate will facilitate all aspects of Lean-Agile execution, including PI Planning, backlog management, and ART ceremonies, while also mentoring junior Scrum Masters and ensuring alignment with enterprise standards.

Responsibilities:

• Plan for the team (Pre-Planning/Preparation and PI Planning Events) and represent the team in Scrum of Scrums/ART Syncs
• Drive agile execution to meet business outcomes and priorities
• Perform hands-on training/coaching to teams in all aspects of Lean-Agile
• Lead roles and teams to embrace a Lean-Agile and learning mindset
• Provide guidance on creating and managing an intake process, a healthy backlog, and facilitating valuable Agile ceremonies
• Align teams to enterprise Agile standards and practices, and coach team members through change
• Help the team define and enforce norms/agreements, such as Definition of Ready and Definition of Done
• Establish and report on agile metrics
• Ensure the team has a healthy product and Sprint backlog in collaboration with the Product Owner
• Facilitate dependency management, risk management, and impediment removal for the team and the ART
• Coordinate and facilitate ART ceremonies (e.g., Backlog Refinement, PI Planning, ART Sync, Scrum of Scrums), System Demos, and Retrospectives
• Promote and facilitate communication and collaboration within the ART to support value delivery and PI commitments
• Provide status updates on ART plans, delivery, timelines, and impediments to stakeholders and leadership
• Ensure Enterprise Change Management and other policy requirements are met
• Measure team and ART delivery, maturity, and performance, and identify improvement opportunities
• Mentor more junior Scrum Masters

Requirements:

• Proven experience as an Agile Scrum Master in a project management capacity
• Expertise with Jira for managing backlogs and tracking work
• Strong understanding of Agile principles and the ability to guide and coach teams
• Experience with Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) certifications or concepts (Lean Portfolio Management, Release Train Engineer) is highly desired

Pay range: $46.16 - $54.16 per hour
