Are you a multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer looking for a varied role where no two days are the same?

We are seeking a proactive and technically capable Maintenance Engineer to join a busy manufacturing environment, supporting both production equipment and site facilities. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a close-knit engineering team, playing a key role in ensuring operational performance, continuous improvement, and the delivery of site-wide projects.

The Role

As a Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive breakdown support, equipment installations, and continuous improvement activities across the site. Working closely with production and facilities teams, you will help maximise equipment reliability while contributing to projects that enhance efficiency, sustainability, and overall site performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance and condition-based monitoring activities.
• Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults, repair equipment, and minimise downtime.
• Respond to breakdowns and emergency maintenance requirements.
• Maintain and update maintenance records using the CMMS system.
• Work on a variety of systems including PLC-controlled machinery, hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical installations.
• Interpret engineering drawings, electrical schematics, and technical documentation.
• Support installation and commissioning of new equipment and site improvement projects.
• Coordinate contractors and assist with permit-to-work and RAMS processes when required.
• Support facility maintenance activities including buildings and site services.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and process optimisation.

About You

To be successful in this position, you will have:

• NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in an Engineering discipline.
• Previous experience within a maintenance engineering role in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Strong fault-finding skills across electrical and mechanical systems.
• Experience working with hydraulics, pneumatics, control systems, and industrial machinery.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic diagrams.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to maintenance.
• Good IT skills and experience using maintenance management systems.

Desirable Skills

• Engineering apprenticeship.
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
• IOSH or similar Health & Safety qualification.
• Experience with CNC machinery, automation, injection moulding, or plating processes.
