Field Service Controls Engineer - PLC Programming

Location: Wilmington, DE/ Baltimore, MD
Job Type: Full-Time

Position Overview

We are seeking a self-motivated Field Service Controls Engineer to join our growing team. In this role, you will design, program, troubleshoot, and support industrial automation and PLC control systems while providing remote and on-site technical support to customers. This position requires strong problem-solving skills, the ability to work independently, and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, program, troubleshoot, and commission PLC and industrial control systems.
  • Provide remote and on-site technical support, diagnostics, and field service for customer equipment.
  • Perform hardware investigations, interpret technical manuals, and develop or update technical documentation and procedures.
  • Participate in daily team meetings and coordinate project schedules and service activities.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex automation and control system issues while ensuring minimal downtime.
  • Maintain accurate service reports, project documentation, and communicate effectively with customers and internal teams.
Qualifications
  • Experience with PLC programming, industrial automation, and electrical control systems.
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills for industrial equipment and controls.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in both remote and field environments.
  • Excellent communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills.
  • Valid driver's license with reliable personal transportation (mileage reimbursement provided).
  • Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn and grow.
