Job Description

About Welbeck Cambridge

Welbeck Cambridge is a state-of-the-art private day-case centre created to deliver exceptional healthcare in an environment designed around the needs of patients and clinicians alike. As part of the wider Welbeck Health Partners network, the centre provides diagnostics, outpatient services and day-case procedures across a range of specialties, combining clinical excellence with outstanding service.

At Welbeck, we believe healthcare should be seamless, reassuring and genuinely patient-centred. Every interaction matters, and we're committed to creating an experience that is efficient, professional and welcoming from the very first enquiry through to treatment and beyond.

As our services continue to grow, we're looking for passionate and talented people who share our ambition to raise standards and help redefine the private healthcare experience.

About the role

Our Healthcare Assistants support the delivery of safe, effective, and compassionate patient care across a range of specialist clinics. Working alongside consultants, registered nurses, and the wider multidisciplinary team, you will assist with clinical and non-clinical duties including preparing clinic rooms, supporting minor procedures, recording patient observations, performing delegated clinical tasks, and ensuring patients feel comfortable and supported throughout their visit.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Support the theatre team to deliver safe, compassionate and person-centred care throughout each patient’s surgical journey.

  • Prepare clinical areas, equipment and stock to help theatre lists run smoothly and efficiently.

  • Carry out delegated care and clinical support tasks within your training and competence, following policies and agreed procedures.

  • Work closely with nurses, clinicians and the wider multidisciplinary team, reporting any concerns or changes in a patient’s condition promptly.

  • Help maintain a clean, organised and safe environment where every patient is treated with dignity, privacy and respect.

About you

You are a compassionate, organised Healthcare Assistant who is committed to delivering outstanding care and service. You thrive in fast-paced clinical environments, with the ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, efficient and person-centred care. You understand the importance of professionalism, discretion and attention to detail and you consistently put patients at the centre of everything you do.
You are comfortable working independently within your scope of practice while recognising when to seek support or escalate concerns. You are effective with managing your time, prioritising your workload effectively, helping you remain calm and focused under pressure.
An effective communicator, you know how to adapt your style and tone, whether verbal or written to a range of audiences ensuring your message is clear and effective whilst contributing positively to both the patient experience and team culture. You will hold an NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care, have evidence of ongoing professional development and have completed Basic Life Support (BLS) training.
