Business Intelligence Engineer II – Power BI
Location: Remote, USA
Duration: Contract through June 11, 2027

About the Role
We are seeking a Business Intelligence Engineer II / Power BI Developer to support a large healthcare audit and reporting initiative. This role will design and develop enterprise Power BI dashboards, semantic models, KPIs, and self-service analytics used by operational, compliance, quality, and executive teams.
The ideal candidate has strong hands-on experience with Power BI, DAX, Power Query, SQL, Snowflake, and dimensional data modeling, along with healthcare analytics experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop Power BI semantic models, datasets, and dashboards.
- Build Executive, Operations, Compliance, Quality, Productivity, and Appeals dashboards.
- Develop complex DAX measures, KPIs, and Power Query transformations.
- Design scalable data models using Star Schema methodology.
- Develop drill-through and self-service reporting capabilities.
- Implement Row-Level Security (RLS) based on business roles.
- Optimize Power BI report performance, data models, and refresh processes.
- Develop operational metrics covering productivity, backlog, accuracy, aging, compliance, and audit performance.
- Partner with business stakeholders to gather and validate reporting requirements.
- Create executive-level data visualizations and reporting presentations.
- Support QA, production deployment, documentation, and post-production activities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, Business, or a related quantitative field.
- 2–4+ years of relevant Business Intelligence/Data Analytics experience.
- Strong hands-on experience with:
- Microsoft Power BI
- DAX development
- Power Query
- SQL and Snowflake
- Data Modeling / Star Schema
- Row-Level Security
- Power BI performance optimization
- Healthcare analytics experience.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder communication skills.
Preferred Experience
- Risk Adjustment or Medicare experience.
- Compliance and audit reporting experience.
- Power Platform integration experience.
- Azure and Snowflake experience.
- Experience building executive and operational dashboards within a healthcare environment.
Key Deliverables
Executive, Operations, Compliance, QA/Reviewer Productivity, and Appeals dashboards, along with KPI definitions, security model documentation, and production deployment deliverables.
