Mechanical Engineer – Temp to Perm<br />Location: Kettering<br />Pay: £28.00 per hour<br />Permanent Salary: Circa £53,000 per annum<br />Hours:

Full-time, rotating shift pattern<br />Contract: 3–6 months temporary, with a genuine opportunity to become permanent An excellent opportunity has now arisen for two experienced Mechanical Engineers to join our client’s established engineering team within a fast-paced, high-speed production environment in Kettering.

This is initially a 3–6 month temporary assignment, however there is a genuine opportunity for the right candidates to secure a permanent position, subject to performance and fit within the team. The permanent equivalent salary is circa £53,000 per annum.

Shift Pattern: 2 morning shifts – 6:00am to 2:30pm<br />2 afternoon shifts – 2:00pm to 10:30pm<br />2 night shifts – 10:00pm to 6:30am<br />Followed by 4 days off<br />Duties of a Mechanical Engineer:

Carrying out planned preventative maintenance across high-speed production equipment<br />Responding to breakdowns and working quickly to minimise production downtime<br />Fault finding, diagnosing mechanical issues and carrying out repairs<br />Completing daily, weekly and monthly maintenance tasks<br />Working proactively to improve equipment reliability and line efficiency<br />Prioritising maintenance activity to maximise production output<br />Supporting other engineers and sharing technical knowledge across the team<br />Completing effective shift handovers and communicating ongoing engineering issues<br />Carrying out fabrication and welding where required<br />Working safely and ensuring all Health &amp; Safety procedures are followed<br />What we would like from you:

Previous experience working as a Mechanical Engineer, Maintenance Engineer or similar<br />Previous engineering experience within a high-speed production, manufacturing or FMCG environment is essential<br />A recognised Engineering qualification<br />Strong mechanical fault-finding and problem-solving skills<br />Experience working on production machinery and equipment<br />Fabrication and welding skills<br />A proactive and hands-on approach<br />Ability to work effectively as part of an engineering team<br />Flexibility to work the full rotating shift pattern<br />Some electrical knowledge would be advantageous, although this is a mechanically focused position<br />Benefits: £28.00 per hour<br />3–6 month initial assignment<br />Genuine opportunity to secure a permanent position<br />Permanent equivalent salary of circa £53,000<br />Established high-speed manufacturing environment<br />Varied, hands-on engineering role<br />If you are interested in this role, please apply below with your most recent CV.
